Welcome to our 'home
on the web'. I am Kassie Kasselman - my wife, Lori and I are
the proud owners of Kassinja Bulldogs. The Bulldog bug bit us
in 1996. While growing up, I always had a Bulldog as a family
pet, so I was already convinced that Bulldogs were the best. To
try and convince Lori, that we should get a Bulldog as a pet was
a different story! For the first 3 years of our marriage I
begged and pleaded, but to no avail. Then one day she agreed to
go with me to look at a litter of puppies, and as they say in
the classics: "The rest is history..."
Since purchasing our first
puppy, we have become very involved in 'the Bulldog world'. We
are members of the Cape Bulldog Club and both currently serve on
the Club Committee, Lori as Secretary and I as the Chairman.
We are also the co-editors of the Club's magazine, The Sourmug. |

We are members of the Kennel Union of Southern
Africa (KUSA) and have a registered affix - KASSINJA. After much
deliberation we agreed on this name for our kennel: the KASS is
short for Kasselman and INJA is the Xhosa* word for dog.
(Xhosa is an African language spoken in the region of
South Africa where we live.)
Since we began showing and breeding seriously,
we have always tried to learn as much as possible about this
wonderful breed, the Bulldog. We have also made many good friends
through our involvement with Bullies. We owe a great deal to these
friends for their willingness to share their wealth of knowledge
with us.
In May 2002 we acquired an addition to our
family, our French Bulldog. He is a true 'Clown of the Dog World'
and he keeps all the big Bullies under control!

An
important member of the Kassinja family, is Claude Naidoo.
In 1996, Claude started working for me as my Homecare
assistant. He has become more and more involved in the Bullie
world, and is now quite at home raising puppies, handling dogs
in the show ring etc. He is also a member of the Cape Bulldog
Club and serves on the Club committee as well. Most weekends you can find us at
a dog show somewhere. We have a specially equipped vehicle to
accommodate my wheelchair and all the dog crates. Our dogs are
seasoned travellers and can't wait to get into their travel
crates so that we can get going, no matter how long the journey
might be. Win or not, spending time with our Bullies is what we
enjoy the most! |
We breed very selectively and only use dogs
that, in our opinion, complement each other. Our dogs are our
children and for this reason we only breed one or two litters per
year.
We love our Bulldogs and are committed to the
betterment of the breed. We welcome any questions, enquiries or
comments and are happy to share our knowledge. If we don't have the
answer, we will do our best to find it for you!
